'In The Studio' is an independent jewellery school offering short courses to the general public as well as people working within the field of jewellery. The courses are of two or five days duration covering basic jewellery making to specialist courses such as sculpting for casting and hand engraving. All lecturers have BA Hons degrees in jewellery and teaching qualifications, as well as a combined total of working many years in the trade. The small jewellery school is also residential, offering very comfortable English country cottage accommodation. A Victorian barn hosts the workshop and lecture room adjacent to the cottage accommodation.

The Whitney Jewellery School accommodates up to six students with a fully equipped workshop and vacuum casting room. Each work station will have it's own jewellery bench and basic tools required. The Jewellery school is open to everyone interested jewellery making.
The school courses start at 9:30 and finish at 5:00 with with 1/2 hour for lunch. There will be a welcome pack sent you upon booking your course.
Guy Whitney is a professional Goldsmith with over 25 years experience and is the owner and head instructor at the Whitney Jewellery School.

Vannetta Seecharran School of Jewellery, based in Central London, focuses on teaching professional jewellery making techniques in a way that is fun and accessible to beginners and those who want to pursue jewellery as a profession. The Gemmological Association of Great Britain, or Gem-A, is the world’s longest established provider of gem and jewellery education and forms an international community of gem professionals and enthusiasts. We provide a range of courses that lead to internationally recognised gem qualifications.

The Foundation in Gemmology course leads to the Foundation Certificate, enabling our new Cert GA status

The Diploma in Gemmology course leads to the Diploma Certificate, and eligibility to apply for membership leading to FGA status.

The Gem Diamond Diploma course includes theory and practical examinations and enables graduates to apply for DGA status.
